Wellbrooke of South Bend, The Center for Health and Wellness, celebrated their grand opening Sept. 9. Wellbrooke provides post-acute care (short-stay rehabilitation and therapy), assisted living in a service-oriented environment and long-term care.
“The reception from the greater South Bend community to this Center has been tremendous and we are incredibly grateful to all of our neighbors and partners,” said Brian Cooper, general manager at Wellbrooke of South Bend.
The 100-bed, 66,560-square-foot center features a movie theater, game room, pubs, restaurants, bistro, an on-site chef, beautiful courtyards and more. The project created more than 350 construction jobs and 120 part-time and full-time jobs at the center.
“Guests, physicians and hospitals will be pleased with care outcomes, including the follow-up and attention provided by our 30-day Transitions program that is standard for every return to home,” said Liz Bush, senior vice president and director of senior housing marketing and sales at LCS.
Construction started in July 2013 and it recently opened to residents and guests on Aug. 18. Carmel, Indiana-based Mainstreet developed the center and Greenwood, Indiana-based Life Care Services is managing.
